Candy time! Cut the base of the chocolate box from heavy card stock and cover it in light pink paper. Create a second pink heart out of paper to use as the box lid. We lined the heart-shaped base with a white scalloped border (about an inch in from the edge) to give the box some depth and extra frills!

Attach a gold ruffle along the very outside of the heart box. Create this ruffle out of strips of gold paper borders. Simply accordion-fold the trimmer strips at a variety of angles to give it eye-catching pleats. Fancy and FUN!

To create chocolates for the candy box, cut and fold strips of Chocolate Terrific Trimmers®. Write student names on the center of each square using a white paint marker. Nest your chocolates in paper cupcake liners and add to the box. Create additional candies using Red Sparkle and Gold Metallic Terrific Trimmers® - they’re great filler for your candy box and add shimmering pops of color too! Place all candies in the box.

Scalloped borders are perfect for paper bows. Add a looped bow to the chocolate box lid. Simply make one long loop + one short loop + one flat strip. Arrange and tape together. We prefer to use double-sided tape or foam tape. If you used glue on your candy box, wait for it to dry before hanging your chocolate box and lid on the bulletin board display. You'll need:

Choose paper borders in a variety of patterns, sparkles, and solids. Cut strips from the borders any width you like (or use the whole border), just make sure you make four strips in each size and length to accommodate for the double-sided decorations.

            DIY pop-up Valentines day card

            Pop-up, Dimensional Valentine Cards!

Detailed, printable instructions are available here.

            You'll need:

Send messages that POP! 3-D cards are a great way to show you care in a BIG way. Create the base of the card using two symmetrical paper cutouts. We used two Embossed Signs Classic Accents® from our Variety Pack.
Fold one accent in half horizontally and cut two small parallel slits across the fold, about 1 inch apart.

Push the cut area inward toward the middle of the card and crease. The front of the fold is the area where your card will POP.

Glue a small heart accent cutout to the front of the “pop-out” area and watch it spring forward each time you open the card.

Cover the back with the second accent – this will hide the pop-up slit you’ve made and be the front of your card.

Decorate your card with stickers, glitter, and heart cutouts. Write “Happy Valentine’s Day” or “You make my heart soar!” on the front of the card.

Start with two symmetrical paper cutouts. We used Embossed Signs Classic Accents® Variety Pack because they have lots of writing space and the metal colors have a great Valentine’s Day feel.

Put the accents together with the blank/white sides facing in and tape along one edge, depending on how you want it to open. Clear tape, a fun washi tape, or stickers folded over work great for making the hinge.

Decorate the front of the card with heart-shaped accent cutouts and Valentine-themed stickers. Write a poem or draw a special picture on the inside.

                Paper-Heart Garland

Looking for a Valentine’s Day decoration that’s easy and FUN? This pretty, paper-heart garland makes truly darling party décor and only requires a few simple supplies.

Detailed, printable instructions are available here.

                You’ll need:

Cut hearts out of sparkling paper trimmers and set aside for use on other garland designs. Leave the heart-shaped openings as silhouettes or have fun filling them in … your choice! To fill the hearts, tape chenille steps to the backs of the trimmers and stick heart stickers to each stem. Position them to peek through or above the holes. Hearts on hearts? Yes!

It also looks good to leave the heart shapes empty and arrange stickers on the trimmer strips between the cut-outs for a burst of color and interest. The best part? We used cherry-scented stickers! Stick the hearts on and give them a gentle scratch to release the scent. Every time someone walks by they’ll get a whiff of cherry. Yum!

Use the sparkling paper hearts previously set aside to accent heart cut-outs from a complementary color like Gold Metallic. Crease the red hearts down the center make them pop when layered. Tie your heart chain together with a string of your choice.

Hang your spectacular garland across desks, doorways, windows, and use for showcasing the treat table at a Valentine’s Day party!

                  Candy Stash Sash

                  You'll need:
Create a hearty sash filled with your candy stash! We chose sparkly purple, but any bulletin border color will work for this craft. Use a craft knife to carefully cut a heart out of the portion of the trimmer where the scallop rises, leaving a small bit of the heart attached on the left and right sides (this will hold the sucker in place). Slide suckers through the hearts you created on the front.

Pin your paper sucker sash onto the front of a cloth one to wear your suckers or turn it into a candy crown and have fun handing out valentine treats in style! This would also add cool candy colors to Valentine’s Day displays. Cut shorter strips and staple tightly to the bulletin board to hold (it will be top-heavy). How sweet!
