Directions

1. Set up your goal tracker! Add your two-piece sunflower to the wall and label the blossom with your reading goal. We layered Summer Morning and Black Playful Ready Letters® together to give our heading some dimension. On the leaves of the sunflower, label each leaf with a milestone. We used Black STICK-EZE® Stick-On Letters for this. Finish your goal tracker with a frog accent to mark your progress.
2. Add an inspiring message! Using both Summer Morning and Garden Path Ready Letters®, we added ‘Leap into a Good Book’ to our reading corner. Decorate around the message with large and mini frog accents to complete the theme. As the year progresses, we love the idea of growing the display by writing book titles students especially enjoyed onto name plates.
3. If you want to track individual reading goals as part of this challenge, we recommend using the Garden Birdhouse Incentive Pad, which includes enough tear-away sheets for 36 students. Each sheet can track up to 25 books read. Our Garden Friends superSpots® Stickers fit perfectly in each box and can be awarded for each book read.
4. For added fun, challenge a neighboring classroom to a read-off! Meet once a week to review progress, share favorite books, and inspire readers. Ready ... set ... read!
