Supplies
- Colorful Patterns 4" Playful Uppercase/Lowercase Combo Pack Ready Letters® T79756
- Scissors, tape or glue, and multicolored craft sticks
Directions
Kids make unique masks by layering upper- and lowercase letters, punctuation, numbers, and other art materials.- For mask A, we used a lowercase “a” and “o” for the inside of the eyes and secured them with tape.
- Clip the bottom inch off a lower case “n” to create the beak and glue or tape it in place.
- The outer circles around the eyes are made of an uppercase “C” and “G”. Place them behind the other pieces and secure them with glue or tape.
- Cut the ears from the ends of an uppercase “V”, and glue or tape them into place behind the other letters.
- Glue or tape a craft stick to the back.
- For mask B, use a lowercase “q” and “p” for the inside of the eyes and the beak.
- The outer circles around the eyes are made of two uppercase “O”s. Position them behind the smaller letters and glue or tape them in place.
- The ears are made of commas. Glue or tape them on top of the “O”s on either side.
- Glue or tape a craft stick to the back.
- Colorful masks spotlight diversity! They’re also great for storytelling, role-playing, costume parties, and putting on plays.
BONUS: Use leftover Ready Letters®, trimmers, borders … anything you like … to make fantasy animals.
