Directions
- Punch out your Garden Flowers of choice.
- Using tape, secure a chenille stem to the back of the flower to create the stem.
- Counting Practice – Using the optional flash cards, or create your own, practice counting to specific numbers by sliding the correct number of beads onto the pipe cleaner stem. We like the Counting 0-25 Pocket Flash Cards because they feature both written numerals and number words for growing skills.
- Equation Practice – As math skills advance, challenge learners to solve simple math equations with your garden flowers. Use a different colored bead for each number in the equation to make the problem easier to solve!
- Number Recognition - When students are practicing recognizing numbers, write numbers 0-10 on 11 flower blossoms. Challenge learners to identify each number shown on the flower. Advance the learning by asking them to line up the flowers 0-10 to practice number order and counting.
